Ribbon Cutting & Open House

Dear Friends,

Our hearts have been full of deep gratitude to the Lord for providing International Friendship Ministries with such a spacious and beautiful facility. We all have such a sense of joy and awareness of God’s love when we enter the building. Our international friends love coming here also. We remember that so many prayed with us for many years for God to provide this beautiful outreach center to our international community. Thank you for your faithfulness through the years.

Our “Open House” on April 21 seemed blessed by the Lord in every way. Flags of the nations created a striking backdrop for the outside ceremony. We were honored to have Major General Patrick Donahoe, the head leader at Fort Benning, as a speaker.

There was a beautiful Ribbon Cutting Ceremony during which some key leaders of Columbus, the international community, and the churches in our city, as well our Board of Directors participated.

The building was filled with international friends from different countries wearing their traditional attire. Some international musicians who are interning at First Baptist Church played beautiful string music while many people enjoyed lunch in “Ambassador Hall.”

Friends who came to the Open House were given a guided tour of the Prayer Room, the Library and future Bookstore area, the Sewing and Craft Room, the Children's area, the large Youth Room, the ESL area, the Arts Academy area, the Office complex, and other multiple purpose rooms. Different people commented that they felt the Lord’s presence in every room.

Our long hallway is our Gallery Area where some wonderful local artists have allowed us to display some of their beautiful painting for a year. (Then we will exhibit other select paintings.) The quality of the art is amazing. We hope you can come by sometime and see the paintings if you have not done so.

"I will bring them … and fill them with joy in My house of prayer. My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." - Isaiah 56:7
