The goal of the IFM Arts Academy is to provide an extra-curricular environment conducive to learning with a standard of excellence for students of all ages and skill sets. Piano & Voice
Dr. Tracy Xian

Dr. Xian is one of the leading pianists, church musicians, and piano teachers in Columbus and LaGrange areas in Georgia. She creates energy and excitement wherever she performs.Dr. Xian was born in Shanghai, China and began playing the piano at the age of four. She was accepted into the pre-college division of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and debuted as a pianist at the age of six. Following graduation, she came to the U.S. to pursue work in advanced piano performance and her studies culminated in the Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Throughout her music career, Dr. Xian has presented many solo recitals and performances and has also been a prizewinner in both national and international piano competitions.Dr. Xian is currently Professor of Piano at LaGrange College, Lagrange, Georgia. She is an enthusiastic and effective communicator who is in great demand as a teacher, with over 20 years of teaching experience.

Yuliya is a talented pianist, vocalist, and teacher. She graduated from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan in piano performance with her bachelor’s and Columbus State University in classical voice with her master’s degree. She won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in international competitions in both classical piano and voice programs. In 2012, she was awarded a scholarship from the Jazz Department of Schwob School of Music.In Uzbekistan, Yuliya was a member of Jazz Society and continues performance in jazz circles in Columbus. Yuliya enjoys instructing students in classical piano, jazz piano, and classical voice-teaching them to play Bach and Mozart to Sing and Be-bop; and to sing classical arias or art songs in English, French, German, Italian, and Russian.
Violin, Cello, & Guitar

Schedule lesson times with teacher.ViolinRuth is an excellent violinist, studying at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. She has studied violin privately for 16 years and has taught for 5 years. Ruth is a delightful and accomplished teacher who is loved by her students.

Joel is a talented violinist of 11 years. He is currently a senior violin student in Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music. He has been teaching for 2 years and enjoys sharing his passion for violin with his students.

Esther is an accomplished cellist studying at the Schwob School of Music at CSU. She has studied privately for over 10 years and has also previously taught cello. She has an excellent manner with students.
“Beginning Group Guitar Class”
Ages 7-12, $15 an hour
Douglas Mickey is a skilled musician having studied and played guitar for over 30 years. He has taught guitar for over 20 years, for both group and private lessons. Douglas has played with music teams and led music both here in the U.S. and in China.

$40/monthCarole has taught art in public and private schools for 10 years and served as art consultant for the Louisville School System for 3 years. She received her BFA and her Masters and Specialist Degree in Art Education at the University of Georgia. She enjoys working in a variety of medium and styles as well as helping others fulfill their potential in art.
Ages 6-14: 4-5pm
$36/month for 4 weekly sessionsDavid has his BFA from Columbus State University (Summa Cum Laude) in Painting where he has work in the Dean of the Art Department’s private collection. He has traveled around the world and enjoys creating beauty in response to his experiences. David has done private tutoring in art, as well as utilized art to teach English in Africa. He has shown work in numerous galleries and locations in Columbus and Atlanta, GA.

Stephanie is a gifted, passionate and experienced dance teacher of five years. She loves children and teaches dance multiple classes in Auburn, Alabama, as well as here in Columbus with IFM. On top of that, she is currently involved in two local dance groups.
Music & Movement

$28/month for 4 weekly lessonsLaura hosted Kinder Konzerts for the Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra for seven years. She taught music and movement classes at Montessori and private schools in Maine. She has been a featured artist with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, North Shore Philharmonic, Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, Best of Broadway, and the Portland Museum of Art.
